Porcelain veneers can help you achieve a beautiful and functional smile by correcting cracks, chips, gaps, discoloration, crookedness, and other tooth defects. Veneers are thin sheets of porcelain that are cemented to one or more of your existing teeth. This treatment is a permanent solution that can restore the appearance, color, straightness, shape, and even size of defective teeth.
Who Should Get Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers may be recommended for patients who have chips, cracks, or gaps in their teeth. Veneers can also serve as a treatment for patients who wish to get rid of gaps or crookedness but who do not want to go through the Invisalign® teeth straightening process. Patients with discolored teeth who are not good candidates for teeth whitening can also receive veneers to improve the appearance of stained teeth.

The Treatment Process
Getting your teeth fitted with porcelain veneers occurs in two treatment phases:
Phase 1:
A small amount of enamel (approximately the thickness of a contact lens) is removed from the teeth that will be fitted with veneers. A mold is taken of the teeth so that customized veneers can be fabricated. Because enamel is permanently removed, temporary veneers will be fitted to your teeth until the permanent veneers are ready.
Phase 2:
One to two weeks later, the personalized porcelain veneers will be permanently bonded to your teeth. They will be fitted and matched precisely for color, shape, and size before they are cemented to the teeth. The bonding process requires no anesthesia and produces immediate results. Patients can return home to enjoy their newly enhanced smile.
